So What?

If you asked my students to describe me using something I'd said in class, this would likely be the phrase. I'm an inquirer, curious about everything. But I'm especially curious about the intersections of Humanities and digital life. Between Shakespeare and social networking sites. Between poems and iPhones, Aristotle and Android.

In 2016, I accepted the challenge to lead my college's faculty development efforts. As Director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, I work to provide faculty development programming, from adjunct in-service planning to new faculty orientation programs to ongoing support for veteran professors engaged in SoTL research.

For the past decade, I have served as a faculty member, most recently as Associate Professor of English and Humanities Digital Liaison at GHC. I teach a variety of courses, all of which try to live in those rich intersections of the analog and digital. I've taught composition and literature courses focused on Feminism and Gender Studies, Horror Films, Technology, Race, and Happiness. Not all at once, of course...but then again...

In 2015, I completed my Ed.D., School Improvement with a concentration on Instructional Technology and Design, at the U of West Georgia. My dissertation explored students' use of social networking sites at an access institution.
